HITHERTO
The Lord hath helped me -
When my day, was black, as night,
And all around, was barren desert;
No oasis - was in sight.
As I groped, through thickened blackness,
And my soul, was o'erwhelmed, by fear,
I was aware, of the Master's Presence;
And He drew me, ever so near.
The blackness of night, then vanished,
And the storm, that I feared, was past,
There was now, no raging billows;
I was safe, in the harbor, at last.
As I basked, in the glorious morning.
And, gave thanks, for the pastures, to feed,
He led me, beside the still waters;
And supplieth my soul's every need.
